Discipline & Students - Spare the Taser spoil the child.

category international | rights, freedoms and repression | other press author Tuesday September 18, 2007 19:01author by Fu manchu Report this post to the editors

Yesterday a student of general "leftiness" tried to squeeze a ranting bit of information & polemic into a question being put to US senator John Kerry during a student debate in Florida University. Nothing he said was particularly revolutionary despite his obvious passion. He affirmed the belief that Greg Pallast is a good bloke, Kerry had really won the 2004 election, GW Bush gets blowjobs, 911 is upsetting and then just as the good senator had asked him to get to the point and ask the question, the young man uttered the word "impeachment" & then got carried to the back of the room and tasered by the university security guards.the website of Taser international offers a t-shirt with the slogan "so...... you weren't doing anything - let's go to the video!". That's exactly where we going dear readers.

There have been numerous taser incidents in the USA and almost all of them (as this incident did) prompt video internet coverage. But this one is sort of cool in that it also prompted a response & press statement from John Kerry which his office has put out for the benfit of US news interest types who probably aren't going to see the whole video or pay attention to the ranting polemic.
Here's what John Kerry's office had to say today - "In 37 years of public appearances, through wars, protests and highly emotional events, I have never had a dialogue end this way. I believe I could have handled the situation without interruption, but again I do not know what warnings or other exchanges transpired between the young man and the police prior to his barging to the front of the line and their intervention. I asked the police to allow me to answer the question and was in the process of answering him when he was taken into custody. I was not aware that a taser was used until after I left the building. I hope that neither the student nor any of the police were injured. I regret enormously that a good healthy discussion was interrupted."

very reasonable I'll think you agree. Now watch the video - & listen to carefully how the " good healthy discussion got interrupted just around "impeaching bush". http://miami.indymedia.org/news/2007/09/9267.php
the event was videod from a different angle here http://video.nbc6.net/player/?id=157250
Here's how local press in Florida are putting it all together -
http://www.miamiherald.com/news/florida/story/241219.html
& of course the young man has been released and without statement was driven off in his dad's attorney's SUV http://www.miamiherald.com/news/breaking_news/story/241....html
By which stage the local commercial press had to spin the news.......naturally......... the young chap has a history of videotaping his own pranks & jokes. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2007/09/17/police-taser-f....html

For those who would like to temporarily fry someone's nervous & cardiac system coz they vote a different way to you or would simply like to warn them off with a so......you weren't doing anything - let's go to the video! t-shirt the Taser online store is just for you.
